Fall 2011 Soccer Information

This season your team will have 5 or 6 Saturday games and 2 or 3 weekday evening games.

Registration-Sign up your child starting June 1 through 12:00 noon on July 15, 2011 at Westwood Recreation Center. After 12:00 noon on Friday, July 15 there will be a $10.00 late fee and you will be put on a waiting list. Your child must be at least 4 years old by August 1, 2011. Bring a copy of  child’s birth certificate is not on file. Fee does not include shirt or socks.

Things you will need to buy: You can purchase the required red and royal reversible team shirt at Great American Sports or www.gamereadysports.net. The shirt will have the city logo on the front chest. You will need a pair of shin guards, socks to cover the shin guards, age appropriate ball and a thermos of water. 4-7 year olds need a #3 ball. 8-11 year olds need a # 4 ball. 12 year olds and older need a #5 ball.

Fee: Jackson City Residents: $29 (TSSA fee $9, JAWS fee $8, COJ fee$12)

        Non Jackson City Residents: $41 (TSSA fee $9, JAWS fee $8, COJ fee $24)

Malesus Park:  If there are enough children that sign up  wanting to have games at Malesus Park, we will have an under 6, under 8 and under 10 age groups. 

Practices : Will be up to coaches. The coach chooses the place and the time of the practice.

Soccer Coaches Clinic: Coaches that have not attended the Youth Module Certification must attend the whole scheduled session and complete course work to receive the Youth Module Certification. The certification clinic is Saturday, August 6, 9:00-2:00 PM. Lunch will be provided. Wear tennis shoes and attire to play soccer. Coaches must sign up on line: www.tnsoccer.org.

Player Development: August 21 at North Park 2:00-3:00 PM on field #3. Instructor: Paul Conway (Lambuth University’s Men’s Soccer Coach). Players are to bring their own ball, thermos of water and shin guards. It is free. For cancellations due to wet fields call #265-1855.

Game Schedules: will be ready September 2, 2011. They can be downloaded www.cityofjackson.net or www.jacksonareawidesoccer.com .

Regular season ends- October 15. There might be a couple of rain out dates to be announced.

Fall 2011 youth

Fall sign ups: Mon–Fri, 8:00-5:00 PM, June 1-12 noon on July 15 After 12 noon on July 15 you will be charged a $10 late fee. 

Ages:  4-18 (Must be 4 by July 31, 2011.)  bring a copy of child’s birth certificate if not on file.  Fee does not include shirt and socks. You can register on line : www.cityofjackson.net, but you will still need to mail a copy of your child’s birth certificate unless we have it on file. You will not be registered until we receive your fee. You can get a registration form: www.cityofjackson.net  orjacksonareawidesoccer.com. You must sign up between June 1&12:00 noon on July 15 to request a player. You can only request one  player (If you request more that one player, your request will be thrown out.) The player you requested must request your child on their form before they will be placed on the same team. You can not request a coach. We will try to accommodate, but our #1 priority will be to make the teams as equal as possible. Coaches get one child’s registration fee free. Games start Sept. 10. All players will be required to buy a red and royal JAWS reversible soccer shirt from www.gamereadysports.net  or Great American Sports. These shirts can be used season after season. You will also need a ball, shin-guards and socks to cover the shin guards.
